Grand Opening of the Print Shop

I am so excited to finally be able to share with you my new store!

Today is the grand opening of the Hide the Cookie Jar Shop, a place where you can find all kinds of awesome apparel for the whole family.

Part of the vision of this store came out of frustration for me.

we're open - print shop grand openingLast year, I was in the market for a “Big Sister” shirt for Alexie. We were announcing our pregnancy to our families and wanted her to wear it. She was about 15 months, but for the life of me, I could not find a “Big Sister” shirt in her size. The smallest size I could find was 2T, made for 2-year-olds. I bought it, but it was huge on her and it just started to fit her properly when Zoé was born.
And that was just the start. As I started shopping for 2 girls, I would notice a cute shirt here or hoodie there, but I could never find it in a size for both girls. And matching or coordinating the kids is just so stinkin’ cute. That’s a goal of my store. All kids designs are available in any size from newborn onesies to size 8. So you can find a Big Sister onesie for you 6 month old or get matching tops for your kids. I also wanted a place for moms and dads to get some cool gear too.

It took some time (and a lot of help from my hubby) but we’ve got everything up and running. We wanted to keep things local as much as possible, and were able to find an amazing printer right in our little town! I’ve personally been to the shop, watched the pieces print and can attest to their awesome quality.
I think it’s important to mention that this isn’t silkscreen. All the printing is DTG (direct to garment) printing, which means that there is no plastic-y texture. The inks actually soak into the fabric, making for a smoother, more comfortable shirt. And they won’t get that “silkscreen crackle” as they are washed. The result is a shirt that is soft and comfortable from day one!

It’s just the beginning. There are only a few designs up so far, but more will come as I continue to create them. I’ve already got a few more in the works that just need a little tweaking before they are perfect. So don’t forget to check back in often to see the newest designs.

You can find our shop by clicking on the tab in the menu that says “Print Shop” or you can click here.
